Holt and the surrounding area…
The White Cottage is just an eight minute walk from the popular town of Holt and only four miles from the coast. It is an ideal location for local attractions and historic properties including National Trust properties such as Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall. There is also a variety of activities such as sailing, walking, cycling and bird watching.
The historic Georgian town of Holt has plenty of charming and interesting shops. You can browse in the antique shops, book shops and boutiques or relax in one of the many tea rooms. There are several restaurants and public houses where you can lunch or have an evening meal.
Whatever time of year you visit, you will be captivated by the beauty and charm of North Norfolk. You will not want to rush. It is a great place for relaxing.
There are many unspoilt towns and villages with attractive buildings and interesting churches. You will find the diversity of the North Norfolk coastline offers endless peace and enjoyment with its vast beaches, marshes, creakes and cliff tops. The views and walks from the cliffs are not to be missed.
North Norfolk is outstanding for birdwatching with Cley and the RSPB reserve at Titchwell a short drive away. Local knowledge is always available from David, an avid birder.
FROM NORWICH: take the A140 (towards Cromer) and at the first roundabout after the airport take the B1149 (signed Holt). On entering Holt you will pass Holt Country Park on the right and we are on the right after the next bend. If you miss us you will see on the right the Police and Fire Stations. Just carry on a short distance to the roundabout and turn around.
FROM FAKENHAM: take the A148 (towards Cromer) and follow this into Holt. In Holt ignore the signs for the town centre and continue to the roundabout. At the roundabout go straight on, taking the B1149 (Norwich Road). After around 300 yards on the left are the Police and Fire Stations. We are on the left just a little further along.
Parking is available in the pull-in opposite the cottage.
